I watched this film well after it finished in the cinemas, so I had high expectations of a “200 crore +” film, but in a nutshell I feel it is overrated.
Rohit Shetty is renowned now for delivering hits – Golmaal trilogy and Singham so it was obvious choosing SRK and Deepika for a film would be an instant hit! Chennai Express is a typical Rohit film – action, romance, comedy all packed into one film and overall it works!
Shah Rukh Khan is funny, and performs well but seriously looks too old to romance Deepika on screen. Deepika looks absolutely stunning and for me, puts her best performance to date. She perfects the south Indian accent, and her comic timing is fantastic alongside SRK. She will surely be nominated for best actress award, and has a real chance of winning it!
