Bindings can easily be made for DirectInput controllers, such as Xbox 360 controllers. PS3, PS4, or Switch Pro controllers should be set up using a compatibility software, such as Steam's Big Picture mode. For Linux users running OnePad, PCSX2 will automatically detect and bind controls to any recognizable controller. This tutorial & guide shows step-by-step instructions for getting PCSX2 set up along with controller, configuration at the end of the video while usin. I have a few friends calling over the weekend and would love to get the buzz controllers working. I have researched this issue (a lot) before posting. The latest post was back in 2017. I have followed the instructions in the 2 or 3 threads could not get it working. Windows 10 is detecting the buzz controller but the emulator is not. What I'm hoping to do is play either or both of 'Buzz Junior: Jungle Party' and 'Buzz Junior: RoboJam' on PCSX2 using my original Buzz Controllers that came with one of them (I'm pretty sure they came with Jungle Party). I've seen its important to note that I own the games and the ps2, all.
I've been wanting to play some old games using PCSX2 (PS2 Emulator) but every time I load the games up, I get massive frame drops. I get around 13 frames in game, but cut scenes I get full frames (30-60).
The games I'm testing are Area 51 and Metal Gear Solid: Sons of Liberty
I've researched and tested a few things but nothing has worked so far. Does anyone know what could cause this?
My specs for my computer are:
- AMD Athlon 7850 Dual-Core Processor (2.8 GHz)
- ATI Radeon HD 4650
- 4 GB DDR2 RAM

Sounds like your video card isn't powerful enough to handle the emulation load. That would explain why the cutscenes are fine, but the game itself lags so badly. – Frank10 янв. 142014-01-10 17:52:15
@Frank - I know my hardware is pretty old (in tech years), but I'd thought that since the games are so old, it wouldn't require so much power... : – ErraticFox10 янв. 142014-01-10 17:55:25
Emulation requires hardware above and beyond the base tech does, due to the effort of translating it for use on non-standard hardware. If your PC is just at the level of a PS2 (I have no idea what its spec are, though), then you're going to have issues. – Frank10 янв. 142014-01-10 17:57:05
I have a little better PC than yours and I too suffer from unplayable lag on 3D games. Sprite ones, like Street Fighter III for example, runs fine.. I really wanted to re-play Valkyrie Profile 2 before my DVD gets damaged or something :( – RaphaelDDL14 фев. 142014-02-14 19:54:17
Feel the need to run some classic PlayStation 2 games? It's set to get a lot easier, as the RetroArch team have reported on their work with PCSX2. They've had a bounty open to pay someone to do it since 2018, with it currently sat at $915. The good news is that progress appears to be good!
The RetroArch team noted it's getting 'quite usable' and it shouldn't be too much longer until it gets a first release with support for libretro and RetroArch so you can have another emulator under one roof. User aliaspider has been doing a lot of the work, which you can follow the conversation of on GitHub. It currently only supports 64bit and OpenGL / Direct3D 11 with OpenGL having more features supported. It seems Android and macOS are not currently planned for the PCSX2 emulator core.
